Personal Care at Home in Philadelphia

Personal care is the hands-on support that makes each morning and evening feel manageable again. Our caregivers assist with the private, everyday tasks that have become difficult — quietly, patiently, and in a way that protects your loved one's dignity.

Who personal care helps

  • Seniors who find bathing, dressing, or grooming unsafe or exhausting on their own
  • Adults recovering from surgery, a fall, or a hospital stay
  • People living with arthritis, Parkinson's, stroke effects, or limited mobility
  • Families who are uncomfortable providing intimate care themselves

What’s included

  • Bathing, showering, and sponge-bath assistance
  • Dressing, grooming, shaving, and oral care
  • Toileting, incontinence care, and discreet clean-up
  • Transfers, walking support, and repositioning
  • Morning and bedtime routines at a comfortable pace
  • Gentle encouragement with hydration and daily movement

How it works

We start with a free in-home consultation to learn the routine your loved one already prefers — the order they like things done, the products they use, the time of day that works best. From there we build a written plan and match a caregiver whose temperament fits. Care can be a few mornings a week or daily support, and the plan is reviewed as needs change.

We provide personal care across Philadelphia, Bucks County, and Delaware County.

Personal Care questions

Is personal care the same as medical or nursing care?+

No. Honest Love Homecare provides non-medical personal care. Our caregivers help with daily living tasks and can work alongside any nurse, therapist, or physician your loved one already sees.

Can we request a caregiver of a specific gender?+

Yes. Personal care is intimate work, and comfort matters. Tell us your preference during the consultation and we will factor it into the match.

What if my parent resists help with bathing?+

That's common, and it's usually about dignity rather than the task itself. Our caregivers move slowly, explain each step, and build trust over several visits before pushing anything.

How few hours can we schedule?+

Care plans range from a couple of short visits a week to daily support. We will be honest with you about what we think the routine actually requires, and confirm what schedule we can cover.
